Z.I.N.C.H.
Concept and Characters created by Chuck Von Schaaf
Synopsis written by Ben Avery
Carson Montavo was an up and coming research scientist who would have destined
for greatness in the scientific community. The only thing holding him back
was his desire to do work that actually helped people -- field work that made
a difference. But Carson Montavo's old life is little more than a dream now.
While searching for a cure to an especially deadly alien virus called Orcus,
the young research scientist noticed that certain animals were immune. Extracting
strands of antibodies from seven animals -- including a white tiger, a bat,
and a coyote -- he created an experimental treatment that seemed to destroy
the virus. However, exposure to Orcus forced Carson to use the treatment on
himself. He was cured, but with two unexpected side effects. First, his body
was transformed, integrating traits from the seven species into his own body
on a nucleic level, becoming the Zoological Integrated Nucleic Chromosomal
Hybrid -- Z.I.N.C.H. Second, he found that his body -- his very blood -- produced
the anti-virus.
Once, he had devoted his life to seeking a cure for the Orcus virus. Now he
IS the cure -- his blood producing the anti-virus needed to fight the deadly
disease. But he is also Z.I.N.C.H., a fierce looking hybrid comprised of seven
different animals' DNA. Now, a modern stranger in a strange land, the radically
altered scientist must learn to use both his human intellect and his new animal
strengths to help those in need -- if they can trust this strange new creature
long enough to let him help them.
